NATIONAL ― Our brother and leader, Thomas Abdul-Salaam, has passed away.  We ask that Allah forgive him his sins and grant him the Paradise. We ask Allah’s mercy upon his wife, Dr. Aisha Kareem and his entire family, and that Allah (SWT) will grant them strength in their loss.

TwinServantAs a visionary founder of American Muslim 360 (AM360) and Community Wide Shuraa Conference (CWSC), he left us a legacy of faith, commitment and service to us, our entire American Muslim community and beyond.

Those of us who knew him up close and personal, have lost an inspiring mentor and sincere believer and friend who truly demonstrated that a Muslim is a mirror for his brother, for Thomas reflected the best in us and our group aspiration. His leadership and service we pray will be a sadaqah jarriyyah for himself and his family.

We want you to know that Thomas left us at Community Wide Shuraa Conference and American Muslim 360 a blue print for success.  We will continue building on the foundation he ardently supported of shuraa baynahum to continue guiding both CWSC and AM360 to be the premier models of service and excellence he envisioned.

The Salatul Jinnaazah is Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the Islamic Cemetery, 14273 North Beckman Road, Lodi CA 95240. Believers are asked to offer prayers for Thomas and his family in their jamaat on Friday.

Additional information on tributes at AM360 and CWSC will be released as soon as possible. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences, please send them to cwsconline@gmail.com and stay tuned to AM360. You may make charitable contributions in Thomas’ memory online here or U.S. mail to: CWSC, 2620 Bragg Boulevard, Suite D, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28303. You may also mail contributions to CWSC, PO Box 727, Stockton, California 95201. All contributions are tax deductible.

No expressions can fully convey our loss or the gratitude we feel for having had the opportunity to work with Brother Thomas. We do know he would want us to stay committed and connected to the work of improving our community life and that is how we can best honor his memory.

As-Salaam-Alaikum.

O Allah our brother, Thomas Abdul-Salaam, comes to You leaving behind his deeds, his family and his home. Accept the best of his deeds, give him a better family and a better home. Expand his grave for him and provide a light in his grave. Do not let his grave be a trial for him beyond what he can bear, and do not let his death be a trial for us beyond what we can bear. Forgive his sins and admit him to Paradise. Ameen.

May Allah SWT forgive Brother Thomas his faults and grant him Jannah for all his good works in spreading the message of Al islam, Al Quranic Logic and the language of imam Mohammed (raa).May Allah Grant comfort, peace, and ease to his wife and family at this time and well into the future. Amin.

Our best gift to him, the Abdus Salaam Family, the AM360 staff, the show hosts and listening audience, as well as the CWSC initiative, in our opinion, is to “Keep Up The Good Work” he and his supporters started. “We Cannot Be Stopped Now” !!! BrotherThomas was in “deed” a humble, and Faithful “Twin Servant” of Allah. Let us “Connect The Dots”, meaning, bringing together “Like Minds” and “merging” our talents and abilities to achieve the goals and directives that Allah has assigned us to fulfill through implementing Imam W Deen Mohammed’s domestic and global social, cultural, political and ,economic programs, as well as ongoing “interfaith” initiatives. .

As-Salaamu ‘alaikum. May Allah grant our brother forgiveness and high place in Paradise.

Thomas Abdus-Salaam, your brother, represents a milestone reached in our development as a people. His work to establish at vital component of community–the means to connect with the greater community so that knowledge and information can be exchanged that will allow the community collective to be established, grow, evolve and prosper. Some one had to take on the task, and he stepped forward.

Now, Allah called him back, but what is that calling? The calling says to Thomas that your work is done, and it is a pleasing establishment. But not only was that calling saying that to Thomas, but to us, and it also is telling us that now, our work is to take it to the next level of establishment. This is the conversation that the angels had in the womb of development; when one stage has been reached, what is the next stage, our Rabb?

What his work was in now institutionalized, and the institution is now in our hands. The transition has been smooth, and I can see that those whose hands this institution is entrusted are good hands, and is moving progressively to complete the work of this stage. Alhamdu Lilallah Rabbil ‘Alameen.
